Another Letter to the President

Do you hear them?

Between the sounds of explosions and shaking buildings, do you hear the screams of the people of Gaza?

Do you hear their sobs?

Do you hear children crying out for their parents? For their siblings?

Do you hear their prayers?

You should.

Every night before you sleep until your final rest, you should hear them. Knowing you could have prevented this. You could have stopped giving Israel weapons. You could have believe the Palestinian people. You could have put a stop to this ground assault.

And you didn't. Instead, you lied about how many Palestinians died. You kept providing weapons, and even performed air strikes on other nations in the area.

You are complicit in genocide, and I hope you never forget this.

-Written and Sent to the 46th President of the United States, Joseph Biden, on October 27th, 2023, at 2:18pm CST

Below, are a list of organizations you can donate to in order to help Palestinians:

UNRWA, United Nations Works and Relief Agency For Palestinian Refugees in the Near East: https://www.unrwa.org/

PCRF, Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund: https://www.pcrf.net/

Medical Aid for Palestinians, a UK organization: https://www.map.org.uk/

Edit, 10/27/2023, 3:37pm CST: I want to warn there is a risk of payment processors marking you a terrorist for donating to an organization trying to help desperate people in need. If you want to help but can’t risk that sort of mark on your record, until November 9th, 2023, there is a charity bundle on itch.io, where proceeds will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians, and payment processors will see a payment to itch.io.

This isn’t to discourage donations, but to be transparent about risk. If you find issue with this, I’d reccomend writing lawmakers, writing opinion pieces for news organizations, and contacting CEOs about how humanitarian aid is not terrorism. Perhaps one letter may not do much, but the more of us push for change, the more likely it is it will happen.
