I Don’t Know Where I’m Going But I’m On My Way

Well, unlike Paul Simon, I have some idea of where I’m going. I’m tilling the seeds of a career in game dev. From my current work at Perfect Garbage, to my youtube channel, to my own dev project. But of course there is very little free in this world. Which is why I request Ko-Fi donations as well as have various shops for Merch.

I’ve mentioned a couple times on my twitter account that I’m in the midst of change! And that’s true! I’m working on creating a new office space, that will allow for more ease in creating streams and more.

Additionally, I’m in the process of restructuring my website as well as the variety of potential revenue streams in a way that I hope will be pleasing to more people!

Why go through all this trouble?

Well.

As much as I hate hustle culture, I am also aware of the importance of safety nets. Unfortunately, contract work, and even game dev in general are not the most stable of careers. There’s periods of time I may be without work.

Which is where Ko-fi, and the various shops you can find on my site come in. I want to not only have a cushion for myself, but know that I can make rent or even mortgage payments even if contract work has become difficult to find.

Of course in order for all this to work, I need to do two things.

1.       Create content that people want to pay money for

2.      Self promote my content.

Neither item is simple, but I’m working on it. So what’s my plans for the months to come? Well. In no particular order…

1.       Upload designs for print on demand to DeviantArt, Redbubble

2.      Upload the current assets I have ready for sale to Itch.io, Ko-Fi

3.      More streams! Devstreams! Art streams! Even some game streams! A schedule will be made eventually instead of my random popping on live

4.      Tutorials shall continue!

5.      Work on the Digital Museum shall continue! I have plans for that including improving the art wing, as well as adding an interactive science wing! More on the digital museum in the future.

6.      Affiliate links in blog posts & videos! I’ll try to include more deals but yep. I’m keeping on with the affiliates. It’s a potential revenue source I’ve been attempting to utilize and will continue to do so. In the past, many of my blog posts have been political, which can be iffy with affiliates assuming you’re just a game dev. But with more game dev related posts, there’ll be more affiliate links!

In the background I’ll also be working on cleaning up & building up an office area that I hope will be better for streaming and working in general. Having an area separate from where I sleep will be better for both my sleep, and my work! Of course I’d love some help with streaming equipment and new desk…

So, that’s about what’s going on. Shared in the interest of transparency. And hey, if you like all that I’m doing, check out the following affiliates!
