Working with Heightmaps!
While working on a to be announced game at Perfect Garbage, one of my tasks involved getting the walls to look grimy. Now, while decals are great and all, they aren’t perfect! So, I opted to create a master heightmap material, with the help of some youtube tutorials, that would allow for all sorts of instances! The first image is of the heightmap material in action, albeit zoomed in, and the second image is of the master material within Unreal Engine 4.
